THE ROLEBoat Rocker Media is seeking a dynamic individual who takes initiative, feels passionately about their work and will support the Boat Rocker Finance team on a variety of tasks. Our ideal candidate is pursing a post secondary program in Finance or Accounting and is eager to learn about the media industry and the fast-paced, ever-changing environment.Interested applicants should submit a resume and cover letter with their application before Friday, March 7, 2025 at 5:00PM EST.*This role is part of a hybrid work model and will require you to work from our Toronto office 3 days per week. We will be offering Ontario minimum wage for this role. Only students pursuing a relevant area of study will be considered for this position; those pursuing a non-relevant field will not qualify.RESPONSIBILITIES- Accurately process and record day to day financial transactions, ensuring proper GL posting assignments.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable procedures.
- Maintain high levels of confidentiality both digitally and paper based.
- Perform bank reconciliations and review monthly trial balances to investigate and assess variances.
- Prepare financial spreadsheets to analyze and support financial projects.
- Draft detailed meeting minutes and distribute accordingly.
- Manage various team calendars and coordinate meetings.
- Ad hoc tasks or projects as assigned by the Finance Team.
QUALIFICATIONS- Pursing a degree in Finance or Accounting studies or a related field
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and efficient
- Strong ability to work both independently and as a team player
- A self-starter with a keen interest to learn
- An enthusiasm and passion for TV and the media industry
INTERNS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO- Work with accounting software programs required to successfully execute the financial process behind producing global entertainment
