Job purpose

To drive growth and the future ability of AvidXchange to continue to be a leader in Accounts Payable & Payment Automation we are looking for a Finance intern. You will work with diverse, smart, and passionate people to deliver results that have a direct impact on the company's bottom line. You will be challenged to grow, excel, and lead alongside the brightest talent in the industry and be rewarded for your achievements.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Interns will be allocated time each week to collect as a team and discuss experiences, ideas and learnings

  • Goal of project is to deliver a presentation of new, innovative ideas for automating all different areas of the business with the result of either improving profit margins by decreasing costs or increasing revenue generation via the described automation

  • At the end of the internship, interns will be responsible for collecting their best suggestions, and presenting conceptual solutions for automation and innovating how we are working with the team to business leaders and executives

  • Thrive in a team based atmosphere where the workload is distributed across the team but where success is dependent on each other

  • Be motivated by a fast paced, high volume deadline driven environment

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Docs

Required Education

  • All interns must have completed at least two years toward an undergraduate degree

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required

  • Finance, Accounting or Business majors preferred

Job Summary Job Summary: The System Finance Manager is a results oriented finance role that reports directly to the Divisional Finance Director with a dotted line responsibility to the VPO; working closely with Operations and Finance to improve profitability and cash-flow. Job Responsibilities: Oversee the monthly close process and working closely with the field accounting team to continually improve the close process. Analyze and review of weekly and monthly results and working closely with the operational team developing action plans to resolve financial issues. Provide listing of financial exceptions that are not part of the units' weekly Flash such as OH, New & Lost Business, Accruals, Etc. Seek continuous improvement in account profitability through raising financial awareness and financial competence of the operations team. Support the Quarterly Business Review Process. As a minimum attend quarterly progress reviews on the system and contribute to the compilation of the annual QBR. Manage and control the annual budgeting process and assist with the presentation to Divisional Management. Coordinate the forecast process and work with the operations team to produce action plans to rectify any performance issues. Act as financial advisor and business partner to the RVP. Focus on improving business cash-flow notably through: * Effective management of Account Receivables * Efficient utilization of capital investment * Sound inventory management Improve quality of financial review through benchmarking and sensitivity analysis. Ensure compliance to core programs notably on Purchasing and Worker's Compensation. Ensure sound financial control throughout the system and work closely with the Internal Audit Department to ensure: * ICR Reporting Compliance * Audit report recommendations are implemented promptly * Cash handling disciplines are in place Participate where appropriate in client negotiations e.g., contractual discussions, AR disputes. Oversee/Manage bookkeeping duties including office manager, bookkeeper or other admin support staff Ensure that assets are setup properly with accounting and capital assets department by making certain that all invoices are forwarded timely. Provide client ad-hoc financial reporting as needed. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting Required CPA or MBA desired Two to four years of experience in a similar position. Able to conduct analysis and tasks with limited supervision Strong organizational and planning skills withability to set goals, objectives, and timelines toefficiently meet tasks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required Excellent interpersonal skills and professional image. Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with lookups and pivot tables.
