Qualifications

  • University student in a STEM related field (ops research, statistics, applied math, engineering); expected graduation date of January or May 2021

  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills

  • Experience in one or more programming languages (R, Python, C++, etc.)

Who You'll Work With

You will be based in our New York office for ~10 weeks and will be a part of our Financial Services Lab Solution team. Financial Services Lab's work encompasses overall strategies and specific solutions for consumer banking and wholesale business; advanced analytics and client segments; organizational issues; performance improvement; and mergers and alliances. We also undertake work on client issues in marketing, risk management, branding and customer relationship management.

What You'll Do

You'll carry out complex analyses, build statistical and machine learning models, and develop actionable recommendations for a wide-range of strategic topics from commercial banking marketing to hedge fund data analytics.

Collaborating with other colleagues, you will analyze and evaluate large quantities of data, effectively balancing quality, availability, timeliness, and cost factor.

Leveraging your advanced data analysis skills and understanding of client needs and expectations, you will create innovative approaches to answer our clients' most complex questions. You will apply a data-driven analytical approach to an enormous variety of problems in banking practices such as a world-leading bank figuring out how to best do its customer care across all of its channels or an M&A project which needs to find most effective way to combine two credit card portfolios and expand customer bases.

You will apply your strong communication and project management skills to lead end-to-end delivery of both client-facing engagements and internal software development. You will constructively discuss your findings in dialog with consultants and clients while always looking for the best solution, serving as a critical thought partner.

Some work at the client site is expected. Working on projects and exchanging experiences with your colleagues means you will face new intellectual challenges on a daily basis, while continuously building your methodological knowledge and skills.
