Description

Job Summary: Work closely with the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Team to conduct facility inspections and audits.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recognizes and records health, safety, and environmental hazards at all facilities.

  • Coordinates training for environmental, health, and safety programs and accident prevention.

  • Assists the EHS team in documenting safety training courses, meetings, and safety plans.

  • Organizes and distributes Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for chemical safety and communications.

  • Inspects equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.

  • Reports on safety and health awareness, issues, and statistics.

  • Embodies the EHS team vision for engagement of a corporate safety culture, which strives to educate, inform, and collaborate with all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

Completed 2nd year of 4-year bachelor's degree in Environment, Health and Safety required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Organizational skills and understanding of methods for streamlining and automating repetitive functions are a plus.

  • Ability to respond to time-sensitive issues with quick turnaround.

  • Ability to speak to a small to medium-sized group of employees a plus.

Work Environment and Essential Physical Functions:

  • Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.

Essential Physical Functions:

  • Extended periods of sitting required.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, or standing.

  • Walking up to 2 miles in production facility

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to climb up and down a ladder or using steps required.
