Responsibilities

Electrical Engineering Interns are very important resources for R&D and sustaining team in repairing defective electrical PCB assemblies, reducing rework engineering (RWE) warehouse materials, and building prototype bread boards and cable assemblies. This position also needs to design and build tools for testing PCB assemblies to assist quality department to screen defective boards. Previous experience with EE interns at Wyatt has proved that they are imperative resources in assisting R&D projects, finishing small well-defined projects, and reduce RWE value.

  • Troubleshoot, rework, and perform functional tests for defective PCB assemblies

  • Building prototype PCB and cable assemblies.

  • Design, build, and program R&D tools for testing Wyatt PCB assemblies.

  • Following Wyatt quality process and document designs and reworks

  • Assist Wyatt engineers in evaluating and testing electrical prototypes

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering degree-seeking program at the Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate level.

  • Internship Work Period: Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 9 - 12-week period.

  • Basic engineering lab equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, etc.)

  • Knowledge of time and frequency domain circuit analysis

  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuits design and analysis

  • Experience of soldering surface mounted electronic components on PCBs.

  • Experience in Altium designer or similar design tools

  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting printed circuit boards, isolating and debugging hardware problems.

  • Strong ability to isolate and debug hardware and firmware problems

  • Experience in script programing language, e.g., python, is preferred.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

The pay rate for this internship is $21-$25 per hour.
