Overview

This position is primarily responsible for providing general support while learning about industry, process, and policies. This opportunity will provide students with on the job training that helps develop them for a future career with Beazer Homes. The Construction Builder Assistant internship position provides students with a high level overview of multiple departments of Beazer and Beazer processes. The position is typically a 2-3 month position.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Shadows employees within assigned department to learn needed skills for industry.

  • Reviews all policies and procedures within assigned department.

  • May be assigned special projects as needed.

  • Assists with filing and copying as needed.

  • Assists other departments as needed.

Education & Experience

  • College student internship as part of education program or High School diploma or GED required; some Bachelor's degree coursework.

  • Prior work experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate with management and employees.

  • Ability to organize information to avoid missing details.

Technical Knowledge & Experience

  • Ability to use office tools including computer for word processing, email and spreadsheet software.

Physical Requirements

  • May visit construction sites where temperature, weather, and noise may vary.

RESPONSIBILITIES You will be part of a dynamic, growing and energized team – and your role is key to the success of ECS. While your job duties may fluctuate day to day, here are some areas we expect to see you proficient in: * Managing CMT services and running the materials testing department * Business Development and consulting engineering * Leading well, being a team builder, and making decisions skillfully * Project management, proposal and report review and preparation * Overseeing quality control, report review, and management of projects * Managing a profitable P&L * Mentoring and managing junior and senior office and field staff * Working on CMT field and laboratory projects * Working on geotechnical engineering assignments QUALIFICATIONS If you can accomplish the above, your boots are probably ready for walking right into this role. Realistically though, you need the following to be considered: * BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university; MS in Civil Engineering preferred * 4 – 8 years of experience in CMT services and geotechnical engineering in the local market * Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within twelve months preferred PEOPLE ARE OUR FOUNDATION We love our employees and we show this through providing some great benefits.
