Summer Internship position augmenting the Dematic Global Sustainability team. The intern position will work directly with other members of the sustainability team and with key contacts across the global functional teams to complete two critical sustainability projects.

The hourly pay range for this role is estimated to be $18-25 per hour at the time of the posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, student classification/year of study, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What You Will Do in This Role:

Reporting to the Global Sustainability Director responsible for leading Sustainability Program activities and continual improvement processes across Dematic's Sustainability Action Field areas, the Intern position will:

  • Augment the Dematic Sustainability team to increase the effectiveness of the overall program;

  • Perform key interface role with organizations and functions around the globe

  • Ensure awareness and understanding on the organizations role in completing the assessment and collecting supporting documents.

  • Facilitate completion of the assessment and record the changes from previous years submission.

  • Update Best Answer Guide and document repository

  • Analyze existing internal Sustainability Scorecard tool in comparison to external assessments and develop a modified internal assessment tool to replace existing scorecard and external assessments at each manufacturing location.

  • Develop training materials to ensure local teams understand the assessment and how to develop improvement plans for areas of weaknesses.

  • Develop EHSS process to ensure consistent implementation after initial roll-out to manufacturing.

  • Analyze previous external assessments to understand strengths/weaknesses from 2023 assessments and:

  • Develop internal tool to assist preparations for completing the external assessment

  • Develop documents repository and identification of specific text within document to answer question.

  • Assist in-region team to gather documents and review/validate best answer proposal.

  • Coordinate and support completing the external assessment for two regional teams.

  • Work with the broader team to increase Dematic employee engagement in Sustainability Champions Network.

What We are Looking For:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college/university

  • Exposure/awareness on Sustainability and Social Responsibility topics

  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA

  • Must be able/willing to work at our Midtown and/or Peachtree Corners office

  • Basic understanding of and interest in the field of Sustainability/ESG

  • Knowledge of and/or strong personal interest in one or more elements of Corporate Responsibility (Social, Governance, Ethics, Environment)

  • Strong communication skills both oral and written. Possible fluency in another language (German, Spanish, Mandarin)

  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office suite: e-mail, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Strong interactions skills with others via phone, email and messaging

  • Strong analytical and creativity skills - being able to identify trends and common issues and propose creative plans to engage others;

  • Ability to organize and structure information to facilitate easy search and retrieval.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Sustainability or ESG topics;

  • Knowledge of or experience developing Microsoft Power BI reports/dashboard;

  • Knowledge of or experience with public policy/sociology/compliance/industrial engineer
