The JM Family College Internship program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. The program is a 10 week paid internship located in Deerfield Beach, FL. Students must be available to intern from June 3 - August 9, 2019. Students in the program will actively contribute to their team's success, learn about JM Family's company and culture and obtain new skills through learning opportunities and networking events. The individual selected for this internship will be responsible for supporting their department in a variety of functions and will have exposure to activities related to the department's initiatives. The intern will also gain access to professional development opportunities through the internship program. Some of these opportunities include business presentation skills classes, lunch and learns and career readiness workshops.

Job Description

JM Family's Technology Management department is seeking an energetic and independent intern to support its Data and Integration team. This internship will provide the opportunity to learn our Enterprise IT Service Management system in addition to other day-to-day tasks and projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and will be able to assist in data collection and mapping activities.

Job responsibilities may include:

  • Assist with data collection and data mapping activities in support of our Configuration Management (CMDB) project

  • Learn Enterprise IT Service Management system (Service Now), and assist with troubleshooting, requirements gathering, and testing activities

  • Learn and use our enterprise tools for email communication, calendar management, and creating and maintaining documents

  • Attend meetings and scribe meeting notes

  • Create and maintain presentations

  • Learn and use our enterprise collaboration tools, assist with departmental updates and communications

  • Assist with testing technology solutions for tickets and projects

  • Research and gather documentation

  • Assist in preparing information and research materials

  • Run departmental reports and update team dashboards

  • Assist with resource management tasks including reporting

  • Shadow multiple positions and train in a variety of tasks

Job Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old at the start of the program (June 3, 2019)

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Actively pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering or related field

  • Completed at least one semester of study at an accredited college or university

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient computer skills, including Google GSuite (Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides)

  • Self-directed and able to work without supervision

  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas

Job Objective: Evaluates/triages incoming fax prescriptions to ensure timely and accurate entry into pharmacy operations system. Routes incoming calls to appropriate department/individual. Receives, processes, and follows-up on refill requests. Attributes: * Work Ethic/Integrity – must possess intrinsic drive to excel coupled with values in line with company philosophy * Strategy and Planning – ability to think ahead, plan and manage time efficiently * Problem Solving – ability to analyze causes and solve problems at both a strategic and functional level * Team Oriented – ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all team members Responsibilities: * Triage incoming fax prescriptions to ensure timely dispensing; ensure proper "stat" coding * Accurately enter prescriptions into operating system to eliminate errors at dispensing * Courteously respond to calls from customers, routing them as appropriate to ensure top service level * Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth workflow in data entry department * Ensure all prescriptions assigned for processing are completed in regular shift * Receive, evaluate, process, and follow up as needed with doctor offices on all refills assigned * Assists, when time allows for filling of completed orders, profiling of orders for medical records, and also, may at times fill processed prescriptions to dispense to the patient * Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. Requirements: * Florida Pharmacy Technician license and/or National Certification * 2+ years of related experience (advanced degree may substitute for experience) * Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred/required * Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines * Ability to solve problems with minimal direction * Great attention to detail and accuracy * Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines * Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate Physical Requirements: * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with others inside and outside the pharmacy, including the ability to express oneself and exchange information in what, at times, could be a stressful or high-pressure environment. * The employee frequently is required to move about the office/pharmacy to access files, use office equipment, and to interact with others. The person must be able to sit or remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time to be able to work, communicate on the phone, utilize the computer, and interact with others. The employee is occasionally required to stand or otherwise be able to access files, equipment, and other items in high places. * Employee must be able to constantly operate computers, phones, and other office equipment. * Employee must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
