The Hamilton College Career Center's new Career Community program offers both virtual resources and in-person events to connect students with alumni on topics such as professional development, networking, interdisciplinary lifelong learning, and career growth. Annually, the program hosts 80-100 alumni industry-centered events, supported by a dedicated team of 30 interns. The Intern Coordinator will lead this connect team, guiding them in selecting relevant topics, conducting outreach, and executing successful programs. This role is pivotal in enhancing the professional journey of our students by leveraging alumni expertise and fostering meaningful connections.
This is a part time, non-benefitted position with a work schedule of no more than 910 hours per year and a pay range of $18.00 - $19.00 per hour. We are seeking a candidate that will work 25-35 hours per week during the academic year with reduced hours when the College is not in session.
Responsibilities
The Intern Coordinator will oversee day-to-day operation of the Career Community Intern Team, including:
Coordinating bi-annual recruitment
Planning, preparing, and implementing a bi-annual training/planning session for all student staff
Managing a leadership team of 4-6 intern staff
Leading weekly meetings with the student leadership team and each of 4 "clusters" - 5 total meetings per week - and monthly full team meetings
Providing direct oversight to the full team, including offering guidance to the leadership team on how to manage staff, stepping in when appropriate, and helping to resolve personnel issues as they arise
Conducting quarterly performance review process of all interns
Collecting, maintaining, soliciting upkeep of, and regularly packaging data around various Career Community Team data points.
