Great Lakes Educational Loan Services, Inc. is seeking COBOL application developers to join our software development teams.
The teams are primarily responsible for the development of applications that provide the business processes to service loans, convert loan portfolios and manage interactions with borrowers. The teams build and support mainframe-based COBOL, CICS and DB2 applications, while also integrating with Java J2EE applications that run in batch and interactive environments. Integral components of our enterprise application environment include IBM z/OS mainframe running a DB/2 database, utilizing MQ Series, database connections, and network file directories to interact with distributed applications on WebSphere application servers.
Positions are open in the following office locations: Madison, WI; Eau Claire, WI; Aberdeen, SD; Eagan, MN and Rocky Hill, CT.
The successful candidates will be responsible for enhancing and supporting our mainframe-based legacy applications. Specific responsibilities include the analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance and support of these complex business systems.
Pursuing degree in an IT-related field
Experience with COBOL.Working knowledge of JCL and SQL utilizing relational databases such as DB2.Solid written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver assignments on time, on budget, and with the required functionality.Comfortable using a disciplined development methodology and adhering to development best practices, standards and
