Position Purpose: This position assists with a variety of assigned projects under the guidance of senior staff. The position will develop an understanding of the assigned department and health care administration profession.


Nature and Scope:


Depending upon business needs, position may be exposed to a variety of business functions through project-based assignments. Senior staff will review and oversee any work product or project.# Position will perform all aspects of assignments as needed. # As part of the organization#s academic mission and strategic plan for clinical research, we are pursuing Association for Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, Inc. (AAHRPP) accreditation.

This is the gold standard for clinical research programs globally, with only 68 health systems accredited across the United States. Renown Health will be the first health system with AAHRPP accreditation designation in Nevada through this initiative. We must complete an internal needs assessment, review and align all of our research policies and standard work in accordance with the accreditation standards, and gather dozens of materials and datapoints to put forth a comprehensive and successful accreditation application.

This Internship will ensure continued forward progress on accreditation application preparation in alignment with the academic and UNR Med affiliation focus area of the upcoming Renown Health five year strategic plan. The academic mission is directly tied to Renown Health#s purpose of making a genuine difference in the health and well-being of the people and community we serve by investing in the physicians and therapies of tomorrow through education and research endeavors today. This internship will also provide a comprehensive review of clinical research operations and healthcare administration, preparing the intern for future roles at Renown Health in the ever expanding clinical research department, compliance, or transformation management. # We are looking for an intern to support the policy and standard work review and alignment aspect of this project.

The intern will have the opportunity to shadow the research work processes across the team to ensure accuracy of our standard work, and review policies against relevant regulations to confirm alignment. The intern will make and implement recommendations for edits related to formatting and content alignment with practice and regulations at the direction of the Director of Clinical Research. The intern will gain exposure to clinical research, learn how to complete health policy analysis in a real world setting, see public health and healthcare administration in action, and explore the value of accreditation to health systems and communities.

The intern will also learn project management fundamentals, communication skills within a dynamic Internal and external collaborative team, as well as data collection, organization, and visualization. # # This position does not provide patient care.   • Required and/or Preferred Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.

    Junior or Senior class standing in pursuit of bachelors in business, or MBA students. College-level knowledge of the English language, including the ability to read, write, and speak English at college level. Experience: Previous experience in a business environment helpful, but not necessary.

    License(s): None Certification(s): # Computer / Typing: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook,#PowerPoint, Excel and Word and#have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.# 40 WPM.
