Responsibilities

This internship isdesigned for current college students, undergraduate or graduate seeking acareer in commercial real estate. Participation in the program is intended toprovide a well-rounded knowledge of the commercial real estate business andvaluable skills, earned by working alongside talented professionals in thelargest and most successful global commercial real estate services firm.

The internship accelerates your learning and development by providing you witha strong foundation upon which to build your commercial real estate salescareer. The program provides you with a unique perspective on our integratedservice lines. As a program participant, you will also partake in learning anddevelopment activities designed especially for you.

Qualifications

This internship isdesigned for candidates with a strong academic background, preferably inbusiness or real estate. Applicants should be self-motivated, creative anddisciplined, seeking to excel in the commercial real estate industry.

Doing this requires developing novel algorithms and computational cognitive models. To this end, we are looking for PhD interns with expertise applying probabilistic machine learning and statistics to problems in computational cognitive science. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with leading researchers within and outside Facebook. Together, you will apply state-of-the-art computational cognitive science in ecologically realistic settings, use what you learn to advance our understanding of human cognition, and lay the groundwork for the next paradigm for human-focused computing. This internship is sixteen (16) to twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year. RESPONSIBILITIES * Plan and execute cutting-edge theoretical and computational research to advance AR/VR interaction technologies in one or more of the following areas: Computational models of memory, attention, decision making, and/or emotion. Cognitive architectures with application to modeling naturalistic data. Application of lab-validated computational models to multimodal, naturalistic data. Methods for dimensional reduction of biosensor and neural data, and connecting these data to computational models of behavior. Methods for inference and filtering of complex multimodal and non-stationary data streams. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * PhD candidate in cognitive science, psychology, engineering, computer science, statistics, or related fields. Track record of successful research applying probabilistic statistics / machine learning to problems in cognitive science and/or neuroscience. Excellent research skills (defining problems, exploring solutions, and analyzing and presenting results). Familiarity with python, R, and/or C++. Experience with cross-group and cross-culture collaboration. Able to obtain work authorization in the US in 2019. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Interdisciplinary publication record (both ML and cognitive science). Strong proficiency in python and at least one automatic differentiation framework (pytorch preferred).
