This is a full-time internship position for our Summer rotation, from May 20, 2024 through early December 2024 in Santa Monica, CA.

The Business Development and Foresight intern will support the Designworks LA Partnering and Business Foresight team on all tasks related to business development, forecasting, and overall business management. This position will report directly to the LA Studio Director and will be assigned tasks by the Partnering lead. This intern is an analytical thinker with a curiosity about business strategies, financial metrics, and the drivers of profit and growth

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the business development team to analyze market trends, client data, and competitive insights to identify growth opportunities

• Support the business development team with new client prospecting to ensure successful achievement of DesignworksLA business development goals

• Assist in developing and refining pricing models based on data-driven insights

• Contribute to the preparation of financial forecasts and business performance reports, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities related to agency growth and profitability

• Participate in cross-functional teams to implement AI-driven solutions that enhance business processes and profitability

• Engage in continuous learning about the latest Business Intelligence and AI tools and techniques, applying this knowledge to enhance business development strategies, business process efficiencies, and profit maximization

The hourly rate for Undergraduate students is $25.30

The hourly rate for Graduate students is $32.20

The selected student's academic level will be used to determine the final pay rate. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master's degree program at an accredited college or university

• Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)

• Have completed at least 30 college credit hours at time of application

• Field of study: Business or other related field

• Must attach a copy of college unofficial transcript

• Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week)

• Prior BMW Group experience (applicable to international J1 students only)

• Introductory experience with AI and machine learning tools, preferably with a focus on business analytics (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn)

• Basic knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) with a keen interest in applying these skills to solve business problems

• Strong communication skills, able to articulate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical team members

• Organized with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Committed to continuous learning and improvement
