Business Analyst Intern

Work Location: Westford, MA

The mission of the Juniper Digital Experience and Automation (DEA) team (part of the Juniper Customer Success and Support Organization) is to delight external and internal customers by delivering efficient, innovative solutions that are proactive, easy to use and self-service focused. All functions within Customer Success and Support are in DEA scope and includes Customer Support (Technical Support, Customer Care), Professional Services, and Advanced Services functions.

DEA is at the heart of the CSS digital strategy. We integrate and build the innovative technologies that enables the CSS business with a focus on business agility and efficiency.


The Business Analyst Intern role will assist in studying proposed automation focused projects to validate business feasibility and value. The ideal candidate must be a team player, creative, inquisitive, enjoy learning about new technologies and business models, have an excellent work ethic and bring passion to their work. They should also possess excellent communication skills and be curious about how the business operates and how technology can change that.

Job Responsibilities

Assist in writing, developing and maintaining test cases in a tracking system (e.g. HPQC, JIRA, etc).

  • Must have excellent written, oral communications, and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • The prospective candidate is currently working towards a Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering

  • Collaborate with business owners to understand the proposed project, cost and potential business impact (Return on Investment)

Other Duties

  • Eliciting, analyzing and communicating business needs

  • Analyze business problems and propose solutions

  • Creating and managing detailed, clear written business and functional requirements for projects of low to medium complexity

  • Gaining project stakeholder acceptance of documented requirements and proposed solution

  • Participating in reviews of developer, architect and quality assurance deliverables to ensure alignment with documented requirements

  • Capturing, writing and communicating accurate meeting minutes

  • Identifying, addressing, negotiating, recording, reporting, managing and escalating action items, risks and issues associated to the project

  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills

  • Demonstrates ability to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Able to prioritize and organize work duties accordingly

Minimum Qualifications

  • The prospective candidate is currently working towards a Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering

  • Must be returning to school Fall 2019 to be eligible

Overview The Business Process Analyst is responsible for Warehouse Management System (WMS) configuration, process development/enhancement and tactical support to the operations team to ensure that the WMS and subsystems (i.e. Connectship) deliver the performance and functionality necessary for the operations team to achieve their business objectives. The candidate is a key liaison between Fulfillment Center (FC) management/personnel and technical teams to analyze and evaluate WMS functionality to meet business needs. They are also responsible for ensuring the warehouse business requirements are identified and achieved through proper functional design, while providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers. This position will implement new functionality and enhancements of existing applications based on specific business needs. The position will be measured by its effective use of technology and process development to support movement of goods throughout the fulfillment process to reduce costs, increase accuracy and reduce the cycle time to deliver products to our customers. Responsibilities Support Fulfillment Center (FC) Operations in Driving Increased Efficiencies: * Partner with FC Operations to identify process changes that support business objectives. * Identify, analyze and test WMS configuration and system changes to support new processes, close process gaps and implement process improvements. * Functional Specification Documentation preparation * Coordinate systems changes with IT, vendors or other departments * Review and approve SOP changes * Develop User Acceptance Test (UAT) plans and coordinate UAT testing * Develop training procedures and provide training when needed * Serve as Project Manager for WMS implementations/Upgrades * Ensure consistency across all FC operations Provide ongoing support: * Troubleshoot issues and identify root causes * Provide site support for FC processes, ad-hoc reporting, progress tracking, and drive issues to resolution * Performs all functions in accordance with IT and 1A business practices and procedures * Mentors associates * Serve as WMS business super user in configuration, troubleshooting, future development, and enhancements * Manage continuous process improvement program as it relates to WMS operation Other Functions: * Performs other duties as required. * Travel to remote facilities as needed. Qualifications Education/Certification: * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of intellectual instruction and work experience. Required Knowledge: * Expertise in supply chain management, warehousing, and fulfillment. * Experience in configuring and supporting all functional area within the WMS. * Experience with data flows in the supply chain * Knowledge of project management techniques and tools. * Experience in employee interaction and change management. Experience Required: * 4 – 7 years' experience as an Analyst, or operational supervisor/manager in a fulfillment or distribution center. * 3-5 years of WMS support and project experience * Ability to write SQL statements for reporting and system issue troubleshooting. * Super User expertise with Warehouse Management Systems, Warehouse Control Systems, Pick-to-light, and other supply chain execution systems. * Experience with WMS * Experience with WMS implementations. Skill and Ability: * Good organization and follow-up skills. * Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office * Punctual, accountable and professional * Strong communication skill set; be able to manage, influence, partner negotiate and deliver presentations. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
