Complete special projects and perform a variety of assignments within assigned Business Unit to assist department(s) in reaching goals that help intern learn about the financial services industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Learn a wide range of concepts, programs and services designed to prepare for assignments in any area of the organization.
2.Develop and enhance the following skills:

a. Analytical and decision making skills

b. Effective communications skills;

c. Management skills.
3.Complete special projects or assignments that assist department in its mission and help intern learn about the corporate environment.
4.Collaborate with manager and other members of the team to discuss recommendations for improved department and company efficiency.
5.Complete all prescribed training satisfactorily.
6.Provide the Perfect Client Experience to our external clients during any training or shadowing events.

Required Skills and Competencies:

1.Working towards the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics or internship-related field, or advanced degree at an accredited college or university

4.Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and maintain professional composure
5.Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products

Job Highlights Our Systems Engineer Intern will apply Modern Systems Engineering techniques, Systems Thinking and technical expertise during the design and development of complex systems and enterprise solutions. The candidate will help define the problem, environment, relevant dynamics and associated architectures, as well as contribute to business and system-level requirements and conceptual designs. The candidate will develop prototypes and proofs-of-concept, contribute to systems engineering lab work, and perform analyses. We are looking for highly-motivated, adaptive, and self-directed undergraduate or graduate-level candidates, pursuing engineering or other technical degrees with a wide variety of interests and a foundation in or a motivation to build technical skills with a focus on developing Systems Engineering and Systems Thinking artifacts and assessments and building related models. The objective is to enhance System Engineering functions and understand how Systems Engineering tasks can be augmented with quantitative and qualitative analysis. Key Functions Provide technical assistance and hands on support for the design, implementation, and integration of enterprise systems and system-of-systems for federal agencies. Develop models and prototypes to support systems engineering activities. Work in a lab environment to support these activities. Contribute to teams with expertise in one or more of the following technology and practice areas: Systems Engineering, Requirements Engineering, Systems Architecture, and/or Decision Analysis. Define problems and potential solutions and perform analysis of the solutions to recommend a course of action. Develop a Systems Thinking perspective, building proficiency in: * Multi Scale Abstraction: capable of both synthesis and analysis across scales (system and environment), and generalization and communication of mental models beyond the formal mathematical views. * Multi Scale Dynamics: using tools to elicit and represent mental models (variables, dynamics, feedback across scales), using formal models and simulations to test and improve mental models (variables, dynamics, feedback across scales) Help support internal activities in the areas of Model-Based Engineering, Complex Systems Engineering, and Systems Assurance. * Required Qualifications Currently pursuing undergraduate degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical or IT degree. Continuing record of academic excellence including cumulative GPA of 3.0+. Relevant academic or industry experience using quantitative and qualitative methods and technical engineering approaches. Experience with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is also required. * Preferred Qualifications Experience in Systems Thinking methods and tools (e.g., Vensim, Stella, iThink, Anylogic, Systemitool, Tableau, NVivo, CORE, Rhapsody, and Visio). Additional Information: * Students need to be currently enrolled and will be enrolled the following semester in a full-time in an accredited degree-seeking university program.* 70% of MITRE's full-time jobs require US government security clearances, therefore many internships require that the candidates be clearable.
