Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement AI tools for Industry 4.0/5.0, focusing on areas like computer vision, deep learning, and reinforcement learning.

  • Prototype solutions using electronics (e.g., Raspberry Pi), sensors, and IoT protocols (e.g., MQTT).

  • Gather design requirements, assess build vs. buy tradeoffs, design proof-of-concepts, and test solutions in real-world environments for physical and spo.

  • Collaborate across the organization (manufacturing, engineering, etc.) to identify and implement high-impact AI solutions.

  • Produce thorough documentation for AI projects to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer.

  • Adhere to DevOps principles and workflows.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years enrolled in an engineering, computer science, or related undergraduate program.

  • 2+ years of hands-on Python programming experience.

  • Proven ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, work independently, and solve problems creatively.

  • While expertise across all AI areas isn't expected, a willingness to rapidly learn and adapt is essential.

Skills

  • Required Skills

  • Exceptional Python proficiency.

  • Familiarity with Deep Learning/Reinforcement Learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Functional knowledge of databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).

  • Ability to translate physical system requirements into software solutions.

  • Highly Desirable Skills

  • Experience with computer vision libraries (e.g., OpenCV).

  • Understanding of IoT protocols (e.g., MQTT).

  • Hands-on experience with electronics (e.g., Raspberry Pi) and sensors.

Working Conditions

  • Office

  • Infrequent visits to a local manufacturing site

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
