Intern - Accounting

Job Description

Position Overview: Our goal is to create a program that is an excellent learning experience for anyone interested in accounting, finance or general management in the agronomy, general agriculture, precision agriculture and/or sales industry between the months of May and August. The internship will be tailored to the interests of the intern and experience level to maximize the learning experience. It will be an opportunity to make money while having more than just an average summer internship. This program will also allow Keystone Cooperative to evaluate potential employees and develop a talent pool in which to hire from in an increasingly competitive job market. Your experience as an intern will be catered to your interests and strengths. The internships we have to offer will be a hands-on, real world working experience. As with all our internships the interns will contribute to the success of each facility in which he/she is assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Work with the corporate accounting department on any accounting support activities, as needed

• Assist Controllers in performing accounting tasks or ad hoc financial analysis projects

• Responsible for a process improvement project

• Duties would include identifying a manual, inefficient accounting process and formulating a solution that would provide operational efficiencies

• Attend meetings with Controllers and divisional leaders or staff as available

• Develop firsthand understanding of the processes and procedures required to support the accounting and financial needs of a company with a significant number of locations and complexity

Skills and Qualifications:

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Management, Ag Economics, or another Ag related field

• Overall GPA 3.0 or better

• Completion of at least two accounting or finance related courses, preferred

• Experience with excel, Power BI or Tableau software packages, preferred

• Strong analytical skills with strong attention to detail
