Intern, Accounting

Barnes has an exciting opportunity for students pursuing degrees in Finance or Accounting. Working between 8-20 hours per week, the intern candidate will work collaboratively with the Finance and Accounting Managers. Core Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing journal entries for month end close.
Assist in posting general journal entries in the general ledger account reconciliations in the Oracle system
Assist with testing the operating effectiveness of the corporate key controls within or business control assessment
Perform/observe physical counts of fixed assets from the corporate fixed asset sub-ledger
Support the Corporate Accounting Manager with various projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

Must be an Accounting or Finance major in third or fourth year of college
Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to effectively communicate and share information, knowledge, and expertise with all levels of the organization
Ability to work well with others with limited supervision
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Ability to develop effective working relationships which foster integrity and respect

Education Requirements:

Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in Accounting or Finance
