The Intermodal Sales Representative is responsible for driving both new and organic growth within the Intermodal line of business. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator who understands NFI's value proposition and can articulate where Intermodal solutions fit within a transportation network by prospecting, engaging, and generating new business as well as facilitating the growth of current customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and source new intermodal opportunities. Make outbound prospecting calls to targeted and existing accounts to grow business. Responsible for initial contact and qualification of new business opportunities.

  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service (both internal and external).

  • Grow relationships with existing customers within the Intermodal and OTR Lanes of Business.

  • Collect relevant operational details and engage the appropriate pricing and operational resources for lead qualification.

  • Manage sales pipeline through CRM (SalesForce).

  • Use available industry tools and relationships to identify potential customers for NFI Intermodal.

  • Clearly articulate service expectations.

  • Foster growth of the intermodal business through collaboration with all NFI Departments and advocate for customers to ensure their expectations are being met.

Requirements:

  • BA or BS Degree preferred, in Business Administration, Supply Chain or Logistics.

  • 3-5 years of inside sales experience in the Intermodal and/or truckload marketplace is preferred. Proven track record of closing sales and building strong customer relationships.

  • Ability to build long term partnerships with people at all levels of business.

  • Proficient in using MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work in fast paced environment that involves learning and using multiple applications and initiating/receiving a high volume of phone calls.

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with a sense of urgency.

  • Must be able to deal effectively and tactfully with customer and employees in a fast-paced, stressful work environment.

  • Strong negotiation skills and closing skills.

  • Strong orientation toward teamwork; ability to thrive in a collaborative work environmentability to foster team orientation

  • Fundamental knowledge of TMS programs (GTG current system) used for transportation operation services.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of Canadian and US intermodal and truckload lanes.

  • Individual commitment towards sharpening existing or acquiring new skills as required by demands of the business or customers.

Other:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, based on shipment volume and customer

needs.

  • Quarterly commission structure available.
