Summary

The Defense Acquisition University (DAU) is the recognized leader as a corporate university, advancing the use of technology in all areas of education. This position is for an Intermittent Institutional Standards Analyst, providing support to the DAU accreditation process.
Responsibilities

As an Intermittent Institutional Standards Analyst, you will apply your knowledge, experience, and technical skills to serve as an ad visor and provide assistance and support to DAU's senior leadership and the Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO). In support of this job you will:

1.Provide specific expertise on Council on Occupational Education (COE) accreditation procedures and standards; review DAU policies and procedures and make recommendations to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
2.Prepare and deliver status/milestone reports to senior leadership.
3.Assist in preparation of the required COE Annual Report for review and approval of DAU senior leaders.
4.Maintain an archive of accreditation files (both electronic and hardcopy). The archive includes the annual report; standards and their supporting exhibits; and documentation of DAU policies and procedures.
5.With the ALO, oversee the final editing of DAU's self-study reports and host accrediting site visit teams when DAU is scheduled for reaffirmation of accreditation.
6.Prepare and submit monthly input to the DAU Dashboard, which tracks progress in meeting strategic and annual performance goals.

Qualifications

You must have specialized experience directly relating to the specific duties of the position, and demonstrate that you have the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully.
Demonstrated knowledge of accreditation standards and criteria set forth by the Council on Occupational Education for Federal schools.
Ability to assess business processes and educational programs against accreditation standards; identify strengths and weaknesses; propose solutions to eliminate weaknesses.
Ability to motivate others to participate actively and work together as a team for highly successful outcomes in the accreditation process.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Ability to organize information from various sources into logical, coherent documentation for use in evaluating the university's programs and processes in meeting accreditation requirements.

Initial appointment is made for a period of one year, conditional upon satisfactory completion of a DAU probationary period of one year. Every year, as part of an annual review, consideration is given to extending the appointment; thus service at DAU can be extended indefinitely.
If selected for this position, you MUST be able to begin work within 30 days of acceptance.
You will be required to join the DAU Faculty Plan as established by Title 10 of the US Code. This position is in the excepted service (non-career). Candidates currently in the competitive service will be required to sign a statement indicating that they are leaving the competitive services voluntarily to accept an appointment in the excepted service.
