Responsibilities:

As Internal Auditor you are responsible and accountable for planning, execution and reporting of audit activity as assigned and directed by the US Senior Audit Manager in accordance with internal standards, professional standards and guidelines of the IIA. In this role you ensure that the established Aegon Audit Methodology is consistently followed on all Aegon Asset Management audit projects. You also ensure that the audit reports include problem resolution and process improvement suggestions in addition to audit findings. Furthermore, you will increasingly focus on IT-related aspects and controls as part of integrated audits, as well as contribute and participate as needed in local and global IT Audits.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or management information systems, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of audit experience

  • Proven interest in information technology and related audit methodology and approach.

  • Strong documentation skills and willingness to develop technical auditing skills.

  • Analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members and internal clients.

  • Proficiency using MS Office tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or related certifications.

  • Prior audit experience in the financial services industry.

  • Knowledge of IT standards (e.g. ISO 27001, PCI-DSS), frameworks (e.g. COBIT, ITIL), technical systems and emerging technology.

Working Conditions

  • Domestic and international travel (15-20%)

Job and compensation levels depend upon an applicant's qualifications including the extent of his/her relevant experience and other job related factors and will be determined by hiring supervisors/managers and HR.

VIEW JOBS 11/29/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-27T00:00 What Success Looks Like: * Evaluate the design of internal controls and make recommendations for improvement. * Support the execution of management's SOX risk assessment and scoping activities to ensure proper risk identification, process mapping and controls linkage for a sustainable internal control framework. * Assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities and procedures relating to internal controls over financial reporting and SOX * Collaborate with the first line in development of action plans to assess the adequacy of action taken by management to correct reporting deficient conditions, accepting adequate corrective action and continuing reviews with appropriate management on action considered inadequate until satisfactory resolution. * Collaborate with the second line the in development and implementation of a system to capture and track control deficiencies, as well as internal and external audit findings to resolution. * Serve as an advisor for process owners * Liaise with external auditors and provide guidance on existing processes * Provide documentation related to updates, finding, and observations of controls * Assist in documenting financial/accounting/actuarial process flows, with a focus on internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. * Engage the second line in testing the design and operating effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting * Prepare updates to management, to include management control remediation plans What You Need: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field, or equivalent work experience. * Two years of experience in internal controls, audit or risk management within the financial services industry. * Experience working on internal audits and/or operational risk assessments. * Previous experience in Insurance or Big 4 accounting and a CPA is highly desirable What You Receive: A Comprehensive Wealth + Health package.
