Overview

The Intermediate Diversity and Inclusion Consultant works with the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion team to assist with the design and implementation of guiding principles that will be engrained and actionable in the daily operation of the organization. Partners with leadership to build an organization culture that actively reflects inclusive and diverse operations. Collaborates and supports a wide array of affinity groups across a multi-faceted, complex organization. Serves as a strategic partner to and within the DE&I team. Provides guidance and support to colleagues and leaders, especially pertaining to HR compliance related matters. Serves as a catalyst for inclusive change, partnering with leadership across the organization to shift and improve cultural practices to reflect the IU Health values - purpose, excellence, compassion, and team. Builds relationships across the external and internal communities that provide collaborative and innovative approaches to engaging DE&I efforts. Leverages and engages best practices in DE&I through data and research. Keeps current with government regulatory reports and programs, such as Affirmative Action. Engages in and trains colleagues and leaders through seminars. Collaborates with the DE&I team to assess, direct, and guide relevant programming, coaching, and strategic guidance. Serves as subject matter expert on various committees and in various settings. Promotes a diverse workforce, a healthy culture, and collaborative practices.

• Bachelors Degree required.

• 3-5 years of relevant experience.

• Requires experience in the design, development, and execution of a wide variety of diversity programs & initiatives in matrix and complex work environment.

• Requires proven systemic thinking capabilities, and ability to challenge the status quo and effect change across widely diverse groups of individuals and levels of professionals.

• Requires ability to quickly build and instill trust, foster collaboration, persuade individuals to work outside of their comfort zones, and take appropriate risks.

• Requires ability to quickly adapt in dynamic environments, and process and reflect multiple perspectives quickly.
