Join us, and BUILD YOUR WORLD. A Brief Summary of This Position: Opportunity to join a successful team of dedicated professionals based in Birmingham, Alabama in a market leading business supplying highly-engineered, fabricated metal products to the transportation infrastructure industry.

This position requires very little travel or construction site visits. The engineering team supplies professional expertise for highway construction contractors across the United States and for the on-site metal fabrication plant. The companys primary focus is on engineering and fabricating steel structures.

The company believes strongly in teamwork and cross-functional collaboration among all team members. Essential Functions: Determine information from construction plans and field surveys Create structure shop drawings for fabrication and field assembly Check shop and field erection drawings for accuracy and completeness per project specifications Create structure and foundation designs and drawings utilizing company proprietary design programs Coordinates with designers and project engineers daily to ensure drawings meet project requirements Coordinates with key shop personnel to establish best practices on the shop drawings Develop working knowledge of specifications:

ASTM, AASHTO, AWS D1.1, AISC and various State DOT standards This position reports into (Co-General Manager/Engineering Manager) and has (0) direct reports and (0) indirect reports. This role requires up to (5%) travel (internationally/domestically), including overnight stays. Other Important Details about the Role:

Highly organized and self-motivated, able to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent and competing challenges and projects Good communication and relationship building skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Mostly 2D drafting for fabrication and field assembly of structures Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): Preferred 2-5 years of experience in a related engineering field (cell tower, utility structure design, etc.) Associates or higher degree in engineering-related field Working knowledge of weld symbols Regards quality and document control processes as key job functions Highly organized and self-motivated, able to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent and competing challenges and projects Experience in engineering and materials fabrication environment, particularly in design or detailing, is highly preferable Drafting in AutoCAD (2018) LISP programming is a plus Experience with 3D modeling (Tekla, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.) a plus Utilize MS Excel daily (understanding of Visual Basic Applications for Macros a plus) Ability to analyze and troubleshoot Business Information Systems Daily use of MS Outlook Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These

Experience and working knowledge of: STAAD, LPile, MathCAD, AutoCAD, Tekla Structures AASHTO Standard Specifications for Highway Bridges, AASHTO Standard Specifications for Structural Supports for Highway Signs, Luminaires and Traffic Signals, ACI 318 Code, AWS Codes, ASTM Standards AISC and various state DOT standard specifications Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time.

No travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office.

Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Responsible for providing direction for all elements of JCI application engineering, design engineering, pre and post-sales support for the assigned accounts team of engineers and to his/her group of assigned accounts. Tasked with ensuring that key engineering metrics, processes and initiatives are driven to completion, adhered to and achieved. In charge of the hiring, management and development of all engineering team members within the assigned accounts teams. Responsible for the team's performance, continuous improvement and success. Expected to lead the implementation and roll-out of general and account specific design guides, playbooks, standards and other design tools. Responsible for the implementation and management of a Quality Assurance and Quality Control program that includes the tools, that is in line with the CoE Network and GCoE specific Quality Management System and that ensures that not only our on-time delivery metrics are achieved but where our quality metrics are achieved and exceeded. Monitors, assesses, records and reports status, issues, risks and activities in process to meet customer expectations and sales targets and objectives and overall internal and external customer satisfaction. Works with other CoE Managers to ensure timely and accurate completion of all CoE related functions. How you will do it: * Plans, implements and manages the overall performance and activities of his/her GCoE team. * Creates and implements sound processes across his/her team in order to provide scalable and cross trainable support to the assigned accounts * Works with Sales Managers, SSO's, Consultants and CoE Managers to meet expectations, support needs and customer goals. * Provide escalation support for engineers and engineering managers. * Assist sales in pursuits of strategic opportunities, providing guidance and solutions. * Attend and participate in client presentations for key pursuits, and assist in negotiations and close activities. * Work with corporate peer groups to optimize delivery and client satisfaction, bringing forward suggestions for continuous improvement and integration. * Build, manages and maintains an effective team; Lead diverse and cross-functional teams to deliver and exceed commitments * Providing leadership to train and direct multi-disciplined technical and administrative personnel (including subcontractors) to resolve engineering issues occurring during project implementation and installation. * Coach and mentor team members on effective practices and techniques. * Leads work teams in a continuous improvement environment with quality tools, behaviors and practices. * Work with Human Resources to ensure compliance with Corporate and Human Resources policies and procedures. * Recruit and hire qualified candidates.
