Overview

This position reports to the General Ledger Accounting Supervisor. Duties include, but are not limited to, reconciliations, journal entries, data analysis and audit support for all of Northern North America (NNA). Candidate will also be responsible for all accounting-related duties for MSA's Software as a Service business, as well as lead the NNA Financial Planning process. This position will have an emphasis on streamlining and improving existing processes and practices to improve the efficiency of the position as well as the overall function of the Shared Services team.

Responsibilities

Description of duties and responsibilities:

  • Participate in the month/quarterly/year-end closing for several company codes through journal entry creation and input, account reconciliation preparation and data analysis.

  • Lead the accounting function for MSA's Software as a Service business. Responsibilities will include all on-going monthly accounting activities, closing entries, reconciliations and financial reporting.

  • Coordinate and oversee the current year Northern North America P&L projections and completing cost center budgets for the following year. This includes developing the calendar for the projection and budgeting cycle and communicating to stakeholders, preparing BPC system for data entry, training cost center owners, and working with the FP&A team to complete all projections and budgets. Serve as main contact for all Northern North America projection and budget inquiries.

  • Partner with internal and external auditors and complete any requirements that ensures compliance with MSA's financial policies and controls.

  • Perform data analysis, trending and reporting for the NNA region and affiliates on a monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Assist with the planning, implementation and completion of various financial projects which can be localized or global in scope.

  • Prepare and present presentations to varied audiences and effectively communicate financial concepts to non-financial audiences.

Qualifications

Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills (pivot tables and complex formula building)

  • Budgeting / Planning experience

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with Executive leadership

  • Month-end / Year-end closing experience

  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking and team building skills

Preferred:

  • SAP FICO experience

  • SAP Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC) experience

  • Net-Suite Experience

  • Understanding of a Manufacturing Accounting process

  • Experience in creating Microsoft PowerPoint presentations

Education and experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related discipline
  • 2 years of relevant work experience.
