This position is based in our San Francisco headquarters, but you will be remotely designing spaces all over the world.

At Sonder, You Will:

  • Create beautiful, functional designs on a daily basis -- our cities and guests are your clients!

  • Ensure all design projects are of the highest quality

  • Assist with remote styling and photo shoots to make sure projects are up to brand standards

  • Build new systems to improve our design processes

  • Work cross-functionally with Sonder's supply chain and city teams

  • Report directly to the Senior Manager of Interior Design

What We Look For (Skills):

  • Interior design experience -- Experience in e-design and residential design on a budget is preferred, but not required

  • Ability to design across styles (e.g., traditional, modern, bohemian, retro)

  • Ability to create floor plans and quickly mock up layouts

  • Experience with typical startup tech applications (Drive, Asana, Slack, Gmail, Keynote, etc.)

  • You're collaborative and love working with cross-functional teams (no ego, no drama)

What We Look For (Nice-to-Haves):

  • You have exceptional communication skills (written, spoken)

  • You have a growth mindset; you like to challenge yourself and learn

  • Technical design skills (e.g., CAD)

  • Strong analytical background

  • Comfort with using data to inform decision-making

  • Strong spreadsheet skills; this is an operations-driven company!

  • A background in art history

What We Look For (Experience):

  • College degree in interior design or related experience

  • Experience in e-design a plus; bonus points for working at a startup

  • Professional experience in interior design, home staging, visual merchandising, etc.

  • Hospitality experience a plus

VIEW JOBS 10/15/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-13T00:00 Responsibilities * Participate in all aspects of project programming, planning, design, and documentation across a variety of project types. * Participate in the selection of materials, furniture, fixtures and finishes that reflect and support the project's overall design. * Coordinate and collaborate with internal team members to ensure outcomes consistent with design intent and client needs. * Prepare for and participate in client presentations and meetings. * Contact and coordinate with product representatives and vendors to stay current with materials, trends and technologies and how they inform design. Qualifications * Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture, interior architecture or interior design required. * Minimum of 3 years recent interior architecture experience in an architecture or interior architecture firm required. Experience with workplace, corporate interiors, and/or hospitality design preferred. * Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp or Rhino required. Beginner Revit knowledge required; have at least one year Revit experience in an academic or professional setting. Understands how Revit works, but may not have completed a project from start to finish. Has made edits to existing drawings, models, etc. Intermediate Revit knowledge preferred. * Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering skills preferred. * LEED and/or WELL certification preferred. * Experience in producing technical documentation in all project phases including permit and construction documents preferred.
