Interior Design Intern, Portfolio Services Center

We act as a natural extension of our clients' corporate real estate organizations by providing a variety of services.
This internship is a full-time opportunity tailored to introduce current students to commercial real estate. Our 9-week summer internship program offers experience in all aspects of our Portfolio Services Center, giving students a broad perspective on the industry. Interns will have hands-on experience working on key projects, interfacing with high profile clients, and learning the day-to-day business functions and decision making of the organization.
Interns will be paid hourly and work full-time 40 hours per week during this 9-week program. During this period, interns will gain exposure to clients and teams throughout the PSC.
Formulate preliminary space plans and sketches that integrate the client's needs
Confirm preliminary space plans and design concepts are safe, functional, aesthetically appropriate, and meet all public health, safety, and welfare requirements
Compile selection of colors, materials, and finishes to appropriately convey the concept while meeting socio-psychological, functional, maintenance, lifecycle performance, environmental, and safety requirements
Compile selection and specification of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and millwork, including layout drawings and detailed product descriptions
Provide provision of contract documentation to facilitate pricing, procurement, and installation of furniture
Coordinate and collaborate with other design professionals who may be retained to provide consulting services
Assist with contract documents, bids, and negotiations as the client's agent
Review, reconcile, and resolve client issues
Assist managers with department objectives
Complete special projects
Interior Design Degree (or relevant field of study) or in pursuit of Degree
Cumulative minimum 3.0 GPA
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite
Legal authorization to work in U.S. (Visa sponsorship unavailable for this position)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
Quick, adaptable learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented while also being able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Extremely professional and driven to succeed
Excellent interpersonal skills
