Job Description

This internship is a full-time opportunity tailored to introduce current students to commercial real estate. Our 9-week summer internship program offers experience in all aspects of our Portfolio Services Center, giving students a broad perspective on the industry. Interns will have hands-on experience working on key projects, interfacing with high profile clients, and learning the day-to-day business functions and decision making of the organization.

Interns will be paid hourly and work full-time 40 hours per week during this 9-week program. During this period, interns will gain exposure to clients and teams throughout the PSC.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate preliminary space plans and sketches that integrate the client's needs

  • Confirm preliminary space plans and design concepts are safe, functional, aesthetically appropriate, and meet all public health, safety, and welfare requirements

  • Compile selection of colors, materials, and finishes to appropriately convey the concept while meeting socio-psychological, functional, maintenance, lifecycle performance, environmental, and safety requirements

  • Compile selection and specification of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and millwork, including layout drawings and detailed product descriptions

  • Provide provision of contract documentation to facilitate pricing, procurement, and installation of furniture

  • Coordinate and collaborate with other design professionals who may be retained to provide consulting services

  • Assist with contract documents, bids, and negotiations as the client's agent

  • Review, reconcile, and resolve client issues

  • Assist managers with department objectives

  • Complete special projects

Requirements

  • Interior Design Degree (or relevant field of study) or in pursuit of Degree

  • Cumulative minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Legal authorization to work in U.S. (Visa sponsorship unavailable for this position)

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service

  • Quick, adaptable learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment

  • Detail-oriented while also being able to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Extremely professional and driven to succeed

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Team-oriented approach
