Title: Interim Principal
Reports to: Superintendent of Schools
Location: Peter Noyes Elementary School
Position Summary:
The Sudbury Public Schools seeks an outstanding educator to serve as Principal of Noyes Elementary, a high performing school serving grades K-5. This position has the primary oversight of the administration and efficient operation of all aspects of the school including instruction, leading, guiding, disciplining, observing, evaluating and communicating with all members of the school community.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Promote the learning and growth of all students and the success of all staff by cultivating a shared vision that makes powerful teaching and learning the central focus;
Ensure that instructional practices in all settings reflect high expectations regarding content and quality of effort and work, engage all students, and are personalized to accommodate diverse learning styles, needs, interests, and levels of readiness;
Use multiple sources of evidence related to student learning, including state, district, and school assessment results and growth data to inform school and district goals and improve organizational performance, educator effectiveness, and student learning;
Promote the learning and growth of all students and the success of all staff by ensuring a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment, using resources to implement appropriate curriculum, staffing and scheduling;
Develop and nurture a culture in which staff members are reflective about their practice and use student data, current research, best practices and theory to continuously adapt instruction and achieve improved results. Models these behaviors in the administrator's own practice;
Employ strategies for responding to disagreement, constructively resolving conflict and building consensus throughout a district/school community;
Supervise employees including serving as an instructional leader assigning and directing work, interviewing, evaluating performance, discipline and resolving issues;
Implement and monitor school-wide behavioral expectations and policies;
Address safety and welfare issues by holding meetings with parents, investigating incidents, documenting findings, contacting proper authorities and conforming to legal requirements and regulations;
Create partnerships with parents and community;
Monitor attendance trends including overseeing truancy interventions;
Implement instructional and assessment strategies by collecting and analyzing student achievement data, facilitating discussions amongst teachers and staff and working with the Assistant Principal and District personnel to plan professional development;
Address building management concerns by working with the custodial staff, office staff, teachers and District staff including implementing school-wide safety and emergency protocols;
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Salary: Competitive salary; commensurate with education and experience.
Schedule: This is a 12 month position.
Start Date: July 1, 2024
Hiring is contingent upon a successful CORI and fingerprinting clearance.
