Interim Latin Teacher, Middle & Upper School (Pt)

Sidwell Friends, a coeducational Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, D.C. and Bethesda, M.D., seeks a part-time Interim Latin Teacher for its Middle and Upper School divisions for the 2024-2024 school year and will begin In August 2024.

Reporting to the Upper School Principal, the part-time Interim Latin Teacher will teach beginning through advanced levels of Latin. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an appreciation for the schools commitment to academic and personal excellence, Quaker values, diversity, and environmental stewardship, which are essential.

Qualifications

• A bachelors degree in Latin, Classics, or a similar field is required. An advanced degree is preferred.

• Demonstrate a high proficiency in Latin grammar and literature.

• Demonstrate an ability to inspire and support students, especially students new to the program.

• Demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively.

• Teaching positions at Sidwell Friends School are campus-based and in-person. This position requires teaching in person.

• Active CPR certification or can quickly obtain one by the start date.
