Interdisciplinary HSSU Undergraduate Research Advisor

Summary:

  • The Interdisciplinary HSSU Undergraduate Research Program is designed to give faculty/ adjunct members from the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, and Anheuser-Busch School of Business an opportunity to conduct research with students. The program will start on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 until the end of the semester.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

  • During the 2018 fall semester, HSSU faculty/adjuncts members from the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, and Anheuser-Busch School of Business will have an opportunity to participate in a new Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Research Program. A final undergraduate research report and presentation will be given by each HSSU student.

Education & Experience

Requirements:
  • Currently employed HSSU College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, and Anheuser-Busch School of Business faculty/adjunct members who are interested in conducting research 10 hours each week.

Thus, through our enriching co-op program, we help develop the next-generation of engineers and technologists. Co-ops alternate between school and full-time work assignments each semester. You will develop our industry-leading simulation software while gaining real experience in your field of study. Each semester builds upon the foundational learning that prepares you for more advanced problem solutions. You will support one of our business units, including but not limited to the following: * Design Business Unit * Platform Development Unit * Licensing & Install Unit * Mechanical Business Unit * Release Management Unit This co-op is a 40-hour per week paid position with the first rotation starting January 2019 and concluding April 2019. RESPONSIBILITIES * Work alongside software developers to design, implement, and debug. * Engineer simulation features. * Develop UI toolkit components for internal and external customers. * Infrastructure process and tools. * Improve the efficiency and accuracy of ANSYS products. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Dedication to three (3) semester rotations for Engineers and two (2) semesters for Computer Science. * Pursuing a BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. * Currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to university after the completion of the co-op program. * Exposure to C++, C#, Java or Python. * Sharp and tenacious problem solving skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Exposure to object-oriented programming. * Previous coding experience. * Strong math skills or exposure to writing algorithms.
