The Greenfield Labs team within Ford Motor Company is working to transform the urban transportation experience. Greenfield Labs is a small, highly capable, fast moving team using design to develop and pilot new products and services to bring humanity to mobility in cities around the world. As Interaction Designer, you will work to support teams through all project phases including research, analysis, ideation and prototyping to design. You will have a unique opportunity to play a key role in a dynamic environment, bringing the best in great UI/UX/Experience Design, software and hardware engineering and business service design to bear on transforming the world of transportation. You will also have the ability to shape and develop the craft of Interaction Design within the lab, reviewing and refining processes, tools, and working with other Interaction Designers to build a strong practice.
You will bring a defining perspective to help identify opportunities to create new processes or behaviors that enable alignment, strong communication, and effective collaboration across multiple stakeholders including Lab project leaders, business partners, and with other Ford teams.

Help develop the craft of Interaction Design within the Lab
Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team with backgrounds such as industrial designers, business designers, design researchers, software engineers, and other interaction designers to develop holistic design solutions.
Provide developers, designer, business analysts, team leaders and senior managers with vision and detail about your design concepts, through annotations and/or verbal briefings.
Actively seek out feedback and insight to develop your own ideas and those of others on your team.
Take a proactive lead during ambiguous project phases, to iterate and discover new design opportunities: Illustrate user journeys, personas and goals, information models and more.
Work closely with Communications Designers to collaboratively sketch out early thinking and to iterate on detailed interaction design work
Produce fast, interactive prototypes to depict proposed functionality to stakeholders,
potential users, developers and other audiences.
Be the end-user champion; transform user insights and test results them into new design solutions.
Develop and facilitate the development of human-centered design tools, methods, models or approaches; supporting related knowledge share and collaboration across teams and disciplines. Lead presentations of project work with clients and other collaborators.
Be a voice for human-centered Interaction Design within the Lab and within Ford champion and educate the larger organization on the merits and benefits of our approach.
Master's degree in Graphic Design, New Media, Industrial or Interaction Design, Art, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
Proficient in Sketch; Illustrator; Photoshop; and on-screen prototyping tools.
Can demonstrate professional skill in Concept Model Design, UI development for functionality, visual UI development and information architecture.
Strong verbal, written and visual presentation skills. Can communicate the value of design and brand within a design and business context, and identify the critical design trade-offs to deliver value-add solutions.
2+ years interaction/graphic design experience across digital media, with a wide experience in creating proven go-to-market design solutions
Ability to closely collaborate with developers, business analysts and data scientists to solve technical challenges.
Ability to innovate, visualize and prototype new concepts to demonstrate and test with users and stakeholders.
Organized and self-motivated; a natural team player, design thinker and communicator.
Ability to see both the big picture, and at the same time be detail oriented and delivery focused.
