Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS) is a 178-bed acute care facility located in Streamwood,IL and has been providing mental health treatment to the Chicagoland community and the state of Illinois since 1991. We are dedicated to offering services to meet the ever-changing emotional and behavioral healthcare needs of children, adolescents, and their families.
SBHS has an Intensive Outpatient Program Therapist position available. The Intensive Outpatient Program Therapist performs social service functions to include assisting clients in meeting their bio-psycho-social needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, and specialized clinical social services for consumers/families receiving care.
The clinical social services provided includes: crisis intervention, short-term family therapy, group therapy and discharge planning. The Intensive Outpatient Program Therapist serves as an integral member of the treatment team and is also responsible for case management of consumer's internal/external support systems. This specific position is for a Primary Intensive Outpatient Program Therapist. Required components are to be a primary therapist within the IOP program with individual and/or group sessions set up as secondary based on preference of therapist.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: A Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling or Social Work is required.
A minimum of two (2) years experience in behavioral health with experience in individual, family, and group therapies, crisis intervention and treatment skills is preferred; must have strong clinical assessment skills, with a majority experience focused on the child/adolescent population is preferred. DHS/DCFS background/ knowledge is preferred. Therapists should have experience doing assessments, treatment planning, and case management.
Experience facilitating groups and providing crisis intervention with children and adolescents who are challenging and resistive to treatment is preferred. Spanish speaking is also beneficial for this position. Additional certification of alcohol and drug abuse counselor is preferred. Valid Illinois driver's license is required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: LCPC, LCSW or Licensed Clinical Psychologist preferred: will provide supervision to well trained LSW or LPC candidates who are motivated to secure LCSW or LCPC licensure when eligible. Primary Source Verification shall be required through Illinois Department of Professional Regulations
