About the Employer

Oak Grove School District has a total student enrollment of approximately 8,800 students from grades TK-8. We have 18 school campuses along with a TK-8 Virtual Learning Academy (VLA). Six out of eighteen schools receive Title I funds.

The size of the schools range from approximately 730 students to 270 students. The percentage of English Learners is 29% representing 56 languages spoken in the District. Oak Grove School District's focus is driven by the LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) and school site-specific SPSA (Single Plan for Student Achievement) which identifies short, intermediate, and long-term goals.

First and foremost in all activities is the safety of students as well as student success in the areas of math and reading/language arts interwoven with science, social studies and visual and performing arts. Student performance goals have been integrated into the state and federal accountability systems. Annually, the LCAP and SPSA's are updated with our students, staff and various community groups in keeping with our core values, the vision, and the annual goals.

The District is located in the southeastern corner of San Jose, California bounded by Capitol Expressway to the north, Canoas Creek to the west, Bernal Road to the south and the foothills to the east. Requirements / Qualifications

All 4 must be attached to application to be considered: 1. Proof of successful completion of the Autism Instruction Module units (AIM Modules) in the areas of Recognizing Autism and Autism in the Classroom. 2. Proof of Registered Behavior Technician certificate issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board 3. Proof of a valid California Driver's License 4. CPR and First Aid Certification. Also attach: Meet one of the following requirements: Proof of completion of two years (48 semester units) of study at an institution of higher education OR Proof of an associate's degree (or higher) from a recognized college or university. OR Proof of passing an approved test that demonstrates the necessary knowledge and ability to assist in instructional as well as knowledge of language arts and math.(NCLB)

  • Certification (Copy of valid Registered Behavior Technician certificate issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board)
  • Copy of Transcript (Copy of of the Autism Instruction Module units (AIM Modules) in the areas of Recognizing Autism and Autism in the Classroom. )

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Meet one of the following requirements: o Completion of two years (48 semester units) of study at an institution of higher education. o Possess an associate's degree (or higher) from a recognized college or university. o Pass an approved test that demonstrates the necessary knowledge and ability to assist in instructional as well as knowledge of language arts and math.(NCLB) • Obtain a Registered Behavior Technician certificate issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board within 9 months of commencing employment in the position.
