Domain Specialists at Citrix possess deep technical expertise in a technology domain and drive business for their domain. Domain Specialists are responsible for their product number and may identify and drive opportunities for customer accounts. They possess a solid understanding of one or more Citrix domains, competitive technologies and how to position our technology to "win". There are currently six domains at Citrix.

The Domain Specialist is responsible for identifying and matching technology opportunities with a customer's business outcomes. They are also responsible for channel and partner training & enablement. Having wide-ranging field sales engineering experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Assist in developing business value propositions around Citrix products and solutions. Drives sales with technical expertise, account management skills, sales ability and a superior customer focus. Participates as part of a sales team to achieve or exceed revenue targets.
Providing Expert Technical Strategy with field Sales Engineers and Sales Representatives to assigned customers.
Strategic engagement with technical stakeholders and IT Management to further adoption of Citrix Technologies while partnering with field Sales Engineers who own those accounts.
Matching Customer's business challenges to Citrix platform solutions.
The role includes conference calls, site visits, presentations, technical evaluations, technical objection handling, and architectural design & follow up on all customer related issues. The Sr SE is a consultant who designs, develops and delivers technical solutions to business requirements.
More on the responsibilities
Provide pre-sales assistance for sales opportunities to customers and partners including explaining:
Deliver consulting expertise to improve a customer's site or service.
The Citrix ITM (formerly Cedexis) technology stack,
HTTP video delivery architectures and optimization,
GSLB solution design
Refine and research technical requirements of the opportunity.
Troubleshooting customer configurations.
Define solution options and articulate the benefits of Citrix Network products.
Act as an interface between the Sales and Engineering organizations to resolve outstanding issues.
Provide reporting and feedback on customer accounts and field activities to Sales, Product Management and Engineering.
Work closely with customers in the design and implementation/integration of Citrix ITM products.
Understand the customer's business drivers and how to map these to a solution that Citrix can offer
Support existing customers in their technical requirements and services support
Up to 60% travel is expected.
Bachelor or Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Min 5 years more years in a Solutions/Sales Engineering role.
Exceptional English language written and oral communication skills. This role requires an ability to understand and articulate both the business benefits (value proposition) and technical advantages of Citrix Networking products and solutions.
A good understanding and experience in Internet technologies, Internet services and applications and protocols including DNS, HTTP, Web Architectures and Web design (HTML, CSS, JS etc).
Knowledge of CDN and HTTP video technologies a plus.
Cloud Computing or Application Data Controller (ADC) understanding a plus
Previous PaaS/SaaS experience
Ability to travel within assigned territory
The following certifications are beneficial but not required
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
CCDP or similar vendor certification
Pre-sales consulting experience is required in any of these technology areas:
Application Delivery Controllers
Cloud Service Provider
Security (WAF, DDoS)
Must understand routing and switching; OSPF, GREExperience juggling multiple responsibilities and understanding of prioritization
