Our growing Intellectual Property (IP) team at Procopio team is looking for a Senior IP Assistant or Patent Paralegal to join their dynamic group. The Senior IP Assistant/Paralegal will work closely with staff and attorneys and will have a variety of responsibilities including:
Preparing and filing US applications, Information Disclosure Statements, formal documents, office action responses, issue fees, and other standard IP prosecution documents
Preparing and filing WIPO applications and formal documents; filing responses and other standard IP prosecution documents
Coordinating international application filings with foreign associates, including formal documents, office action responses and other standard IP prosecution documents
Reviewing incoming USPTO, WIPO, and foreign IP office communications and reporting to client
Docket management, including coordinating with attorneys to address deadlines; communicating with the Docketing Department; and preparing various docket reports
Participation in Quality Control review of the team's USPTO filings, both pre-submission and post-submission
This individual will also track and enter time spent on billable projects, and handle other billable and non-billable related tasks and duties as requested.
Our best candidates have 4+ years of US IP prosecution experience plus 2+ years of legal administrative support experience. Candidates must have strong skills in MS Office, as well as proficiency in USPTO (Patent Center, EFS-Web, PAIR, ePCT, TEAS, EPAS, ETAS) systems.
Familiarity with time entry and IP docketing systems preferred. Associate or Bachelor degree preferred but not required. This role requires a candidate to have a very strong attention to detail while juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
IP Team staff work closely together; a positive, professional, and team-oriented approach is essential for success. If you consider yourself skilled at handling a high volume of work with sound judgement and you have the skills and experience described above, we'd love to hear from you. Typical pay range is from $75,000 - $115,000 annual depending on experience.
