Position Summary:

Initiate absence management processes through effective communication and utilization of integrated disability management protocols, while adhering to company, state and federal regulations, in order to provide high quality of care for the employee while promoting benefit cost effectiveness for AEP in system-wide management of all employees off for leave, including sick leave, FMLA, Workers Compensation, Long Term Disability and military absences.

Essential Job Functions:

Perform Administrative duties associated with absence management processes.

Under supervision demonstrates ability to research, gather and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with absence management.

Perform entry level (i.e. fixed duration, short duration) claim management, organize and gather information to approve leaves.

Based upon authority and experience, authorize pay coordination to supervisors, payroll and vendors.

Perform individual case analysis and benefits assessments using accepted practices to determine appropriate interventions.

Working knowledge of benefits, services and community resources in order to facilitate adequate treatment and return to work.

Maintain cost effectiveness through active monitoring, evaluation, and coordination of absence recovery.

Develop individualized return-to-work plans consistent with standard practices and procedures by collaborating with relevant stakeholders in order to facilitate employment.

Prepare case notes using applicable forms and systems to document case activities in compliance with standard practices and regulations.

Maintain confidential employee records and personal identifiable information.

VIEW JOBS 10/19/2020 12:00:00 AM 2021-01-17T00:00 Job Description Position Summary: The Integrated Disability Administrator will be responsible for education, consulting, monitoring, and oversight of the program operations and administration and compliance, for the specific program managed. Assists with the formation and implementation of disability policies, practices, and procedures. This individual will have responsibility for a program or programs that exceed five million in benefits. The Administrator will be responsible for supervising disability staff and vendors on claims issues, at all levels, for one or more programs for AEP's systemwide employee leave programs, including ADA, sick leave, FMLA, Workers' Compensation, Long-Term Disability, and military absences. Also responsible for running reports, data management, process automation, process improvement, benchmarking, trending, and audit oversight. Essential Job Functions: Determine compensability of claims. Develop claims management plan and implement action plan for resolution. Assign and supervise case management specialists as appropriate to oversee all medical and/or vocational case management on occupational and non-occupational injuries. Supervise the authorization of medical treatment and procedures. Supervise and coordinate activities with third-party providers and State and Federal agencies. Supervise implementation of claims reserves. Monitor cases for subrogation opportunities and submit subrogation notice in matters of third-party responsibility. Consult with and assist field Human Resource staff and business unit leaders in regard to IDM matters. Remain knowledgeable of all federal; state; and company rules, laws, and regulations. Collaborate with HR, benefit administration, and legal to communicate current policy and procedure to maintain compliance. Oversee and supervise payments, billing, collections, and finance reporting for specific program administration. Audit programs to ensure compliance. Coordinate federal, state, and company benefits to ensure employees are receiving the appropriate benefit while providing quality of care and cost containment. Promote collaboration among stakeholders using knowledge and expertise in providing options for absence management. Review, evaluate, and develop process improvements to promote positive change in maximizing quality of service and achieving the desired program outcomes.
