Initiate absence management processes through effective communication and utilization of integrated disability management protocols, while adhering to company, state and federal regulations, in order to provide high quality of care for the employee while promoting benefit cost effectiveness for AEP in system-wide management of all employees off for leave, including sick leave, FMLA, Workers Compensation, Long Term Disability and military absences.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform Administrative duties associated with absence management processes.
Under supervision demonstrates ability to research, gather and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with absence management.
Perform entry level (i.e. fixed duration, short duration) claim management, organize and gather information to approve leaves.
Based upon authority and experience, authorize pay coordination to supervisors, payroll and vendors.
Perform individual case analysis and benefits assessments using accepted practices to determine appropriate interventions.
Working knowledge of benefits, services and community resources in order to facilitate adequate treatment and return to work.
Maintain cost effectiveness through active monitoring, evaluation, and coordination of absence recovery.
Develop individualized return-to-work plans consistent with standard practices and procedures by collaborating with relevant stakeholders in order to facilitate employment.
Prepare case notes using applicable forms and systems to document case activities in compliance with standard practices and regulations.
Maintain confidential employee records and personal identifiable information.
