The Intake / Substance Use Clinician position requires excellent ability to adapt, direct and drive the Intake Department to achieve optimum access to services. The position conducts assessments and is expected to complete 3 assessments daily; ensures that all pre-authorizations are accurate and complete in a timely manner; ensures that each client assessed begins treatment within 1 to 4 days of assessment depending on service recommended. Intake / Substance Use Clinician is responsible for covering day and evening SA and Basic groups as needed. The position is responsible for communication among staff, consumers, families, and external resources to ensure collaboration and continuity of treatment; actively participates as a part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team. The position requires the ability to work and function independently in ways that show measured improvement and professional manner.
Exceptional verbal and written skills are required to effectively express ideas and views when (a) speaking to groups, staff, outside professionals and corporate officers; (b) for preparing written reports; (c.) data input. Must possess initiative and judgment capabilities to organize and plan activities, systematize procedures, promote favorable public relations and make decisions affecting service delivery to consumers. Must be flexible to adjust to changing conditions and the various details of the job.
2 to 3 years clinical experience working with clients in a clinical setting preferred. Experience also to include: family, group, and individual therapy/counseling; must be experienced with the supervision and management of SA|MH services within a variety of modalities and populations. Requires Full or associate level LPC or LCSW licensure, LCAS or LCAS-A. Graduate Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited college or university and credentialing\licensing in mental health and/or addiction counseling.
