Job Description
General Overview:
To establish cases in the Agency computer system and to assess and update them upon receipt of various documents utilized by the Organization in fulfilling its functions.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of a secondary education. Basic, formal training in computer skills.
Previous training in typing is necessary. Must be a very precise and detail oriented, and able to accommodate deadlines for completing tasks on a regular basis. Adaptable to changing processes and procedures.
Prior experience or training in the use, knowledge, and interpretation of Court and various legal documents is beneficial. Equivalent combinations of training or experience will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Operate computer and keyboard.
Type Documents. Communicate effectively primarily in writing and speaking. Obtain, verify and explain information regarding court proceedings.
Job Duties:
Interpret various Court orders, Department of Human Services Case Referrals, Incoming petitions, Application for Services requests, and other documents as to their applicability for CSEA services.
Establish new cases in the CSEA computer system through data entry procedures, assess services needed, and refer cases to other CSEA personnel.
Update demographics on existing cases, reassess for continuing services needed and forward to appropriate personnel for action.
Coordinate, review, and sort down documents received in bulk. Establish cases upon need or request by other Agency personnel for collection of improper payments, paternity determination, and other processes. Investigate incomplete documents or those of unknown applicability for CSEA purposes through contacting clients, attorneys, Department of Human Services caseworkers, and other state and inter-state agencies.
Gather information for establishment or review of cases through other Agency data bases such as CRIS-E. Communicate with ODHS employees and other relevant agencies for information of mutual concern.
Investigate problems, and take whatever steps necessary to correct the errors and inconsistencies. Upon request, prepare and mail various CSEA forms and documents to the public and/or other related Agencies.
Cross-train to serve as back-up in other related work areas utilizing similar skills and qualifications. Provide assistance and information to clients and the general public in response to request received via telephone or in person. Serve as back-up to the CSEA Phone Bank.
Perform other related duties as required.
