Our Unemployment Insurance (UI) Customer Support division provides timely and accurate unemployment benefits, information and referrals to appropriate resources. As an Intake Lead (UIS5), you will perform as a Lead within our team of Unemployment Specialists. And, as a coach, trainer and mentor, you understand how important it is to be equally committed to the satisfaction of both your customers and your team members. By providing this type of support, you will ensure the accuracy, efficiency, fairness and accessibility of Unemployment Insurance Benefits for our customers.

In this role, you will provide staff with expertise and assistance with complex UI claims issues. You will also assist supervisors in leading unit teams and providing training on new and existing policies and procedures.

Some of what you'll enjoy doing:

  • Working in close cooperation with the supervisors to assist with training, orienting, directing, and coordinating the work of Unemployment Specialists.

  • Coaching and mentoring Intake Team staff of varying abilities regarding law / policy and procedures for the resolution of complex issues.

  • Identifying training needs; assisting in the development of in-house training including training materials, and filling in for training staff as required.

  • Investigating and following-up on customer calls and complaints. De-escalating difficult situations as needed.

  • Applying and interpreting complex laws and policies, rules, regulations, and procedures applicable to the unemployment insurance program.

  • Reviewing non-monetary decisions to advise claimants and determine if action needs to be taken.

  • Interviewing claimants, employers and third parties to obtain facts related to complex UI eligibility issues and producing determinations for monetary decisions.

  • Working with supervisors to plan strategies and implement new approaches to workloads; creating higher efficiencies and effectiveness.

  • Maintaining a good understanding of law and policy as well as changes in UIRM/UIPM and imaging workflow processes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • One year of experience as a UI Specialist 3 performing journey-level intake duties

OR

  • One year of experience as a UI Specialist 4 performing journey-level adjudication duties.

Our Workforce Information & Technology Services (WITS) Division improves our business by developing and managing our computer systems, web technologies, network and data communications and data warehouse. We are in need of a Lead Software Engineer (ITS5 In-Training) to join our Application Development Unit. In this role you will have the ability to build code and then create testing for that code that verifies and validates successful migration and implementation. You'll also have the opportunity to learn about IT products that we've developed and created in-house. We need your skillsets to maintain our production connection service level agreements and build out components within the frame work we already have. We believe in transparency and you will be relied upon to independently sustain the operational integrity of our IT systems. You'll also be the driver of architectural decision making, while incorporating feedback from various stakeholders. Salary ranges for these levels are: * IT Specialist 3: $53,844 - $70,620 annually depending on qualifications * IT Specialist 4: $59,448 - $77,988 annually depending on qualifications * IT Specialist 5: $65,580 - $86,076 annually depending on qualifications Duties In this role, you will review technical requirements defined by customers and identify, develop and conduct automated unit tests, system performance and load testing to ensure the code is functioning as designed. You will also lead medium to large technical efforts and coordinate work with other software engineers. Qualifications ITS5 Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a closely related field AND three years of IT experience with developing systems OR a combination of education and/or experience. The strongest candidates will have hands-on technical experience and demonstrated skills with the following: * Service oriented design and development using C#, ASP .NET, MVC, JavaScript and T-SQL. * Software management and work item management using Team Foundation Server (TFS) and Visual Studio (VS2015/2017/etc) tools. * Performing the full application life cycle activities of the standard Application Life Cycle Methodology (Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, etc.) * Performing unit testing as part of the SDLC. * Unit testing, requirements testing, user testing, load testing, functional, performance/load testing and regression testing.
