Lighthouse is seeking a currently competent person who can perform client intake and information services for Lighthouse and works with internal and external customers to interpret client account information. Position is full-time.
Ensures the needs of the client are met with regard to appropriate visit scheduling and payer source eligibility and verification insuring that insurance coverage is up to date, accurate and entered in electronic record prior to client appointment.
Conducts intake interviews with new or readmitted clients to gather necessary administrative information, assists clients in completing paperwork, computes and verifies family income and size and places client appropriately on sliding scale, and explainsbilling policies and fees to client.
Addresses and works to eliminate financial barriers to ensure access to care for Lighthouse clients.
Refers clients demonstrating suicidal or disoriented thoughts immediately to a clinician.
Enters administrative information into computerized database.
Following a client's assessment with a clinician, reviews enrollment information form from clinician for accuracy, enters information into database, and, if appropriate, forwards information to county agency for enrollment and/or enters into portal forenrollment.
Provides necessary follow up to ensure client's enrollment has been approved.
Ensures intake client records and documents are put in client record.
Issues notices and revised fee agreements, compiles data, and enters information for sliding scale reduction updates.
Runs reports and initiates corrective action as necessary to insure accuracy and completeness of administrative information.
Maintains current knowledge regarding third-party and first-party payment procedures and regulations as well as preferred provider agreements.
Assists clients and staff with client account questions as they occur.
Performs front desk duties and backs-up file clerk as needed.
Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies, and demonstrates continued growth.
An Associate's degree in business or closely related field is required, or may substitute four years closely related experience for Associate's degree.
Prior experience with computerized scheduling systems and working in a customer service setting is required.
Must have a commitment to delivering excellent customer service to special patient populations.
Must have effective oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and be attentive to details.
Must be proficient in the use of technology, adept at Windows based programs and able to generate reports.
Must be honest, dependable, self-disciplined, organized and be able to work well as a team member.
Must have valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and be deemed insurable through Lighthouse's vehicle insurance carrier.
CPR/First Aid required.
