We are currently searching for an Insurance Verifier to join our team. The Insurance Verifier contacts all insurance companies to verify description of patient(s) medical plan benefits Estimates patient financial responsibilities. Interacts with physicians, personnel, and patients regarding financial issues.
Job Duties include:
Contacts all insurance carriers per patient, to insure proper coordination and reimbursement of benefits.
Breaks down managed care contract reimbursements and estimates patient(s) financial responsibilities.
Works closely with physician offices and patients to provide accurate patient financial responsibilities and to ensure scheduled procedures/admissions have proper pre-authorization.
Interacts appropriately and effectively with all patient/others regardless of age or ethnic background.
Initiates safe practices and is knowledgeable about current center policies and procedures. Specific procedures and practices related to pain management, abuse and neglect, sentinel events and response, variance reporting, response to sentinel event alerts, participation in root cause analysis and other key policies and procedures is required.
Assists with environmental hazard and infection control surveillance participate in emergency preparedness drills.
Follows all equipment safety guidelines and is personally responsible for knowledgeable use and care for all business equipment.
Enters charges for all coding from the day prior.
Pays attention to Managed care grid in order to bill out for correct re-imbursements for CPT codes and carveouts.
High school diploma or GED certification
Proficient typing/ keyboarding skills
Strong knowledge and understanding of Medicare, Managed Care, HMO/PPO plans and authorization/ referral requirements
2 Years of medical insurance verification REQUIRED

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
2 years experience with Medical Insurances
Prefer previous experience working with Advantx. (Patient Accounting System)
Ability to work independently.
Excellent collunication skills and interpersonal skills.
Skilled in time management and prioritization of emergent situations.
Good customer service skills, always demonstrates professionalism.
Comfortable utilizing critical thinking skills.
Typing 45-60 WPM.
High School Diploma or equivalency.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
Experience with electronic patient information systems.
Prefer previous experience with Electronic Health Record system, but will train.
