If selected, you will remain at your current duty station. The Bankruptcy Trial Attorney Program is overseen by the Chief Bankruptcy Counsel in New York (NYRO), and is closely coordinated with the Office of General Counsel. Learn more about this agency Responsibilities * Serves as a Senior Trial Counsel responsible for representing the Commission in bankruptcy cases related to ongoing ENF investigations and actions. * Develops policy in consultation with the OGC for proposed positions to be taken by the Commission where matters require bankruptcy-related considerations. * Develops standards for review and analysis of Chapter 11 petitions, disclosure statements/plans of reorganization and prepackaged plans, and prepares recommendations regarding appropriate actions. * Reviews petitions and plans of reorganization, and conducts necessary investigations into the history of debtor companies. * Represents the Commission in court on the most difficult, controversial and complex legal and factual issues, often involving significant policy implications for the Commission and public investors. * Provides advice and assistance to ENF staff on the interplay between provisions of the Bankruptcy Code and conduct of enforcement investigations and litigation.
