Insurance Specialist

CANDIDATES MUST KNOW: Agilink, Datafaction, TAM, AND/OR QuickBooks Online

Our Client is looking for a unique individual for our insurance department. A potential candidate does not necessarily need substantial insurance knowledge but would be willing to learn the basics of personal, commercial, and medical insurance. This role provides insurance processing support to the department manager to ensure timely and consistent communication between the firm personnel, insurance carriers and clients. Responsibilities include but are not limited to reviewing and processing insurance mail, reviewing and scanning policies, updating insurance schedules, and ensuring coverage premiums are paid timely. This individual will also need to learn TAM digital management system to file insurance documents and track insurance bills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Open, sort, review & process all daily insurance mail to prepare for distribution to individual teams

• Track & review insurance bills to ensure timely payment. This may also involve downloading invoices from online portals or corresponding with brokers or account executives.

• Check and confirm policies and endorsements match requested coverage once bound and received. Upload all policy documents and applicable notices into TAM.

• Scan & maintain copies of all ID cards (auto, medical, dental, etc.) in TAM

• Obtain and provide premium breakdowns on insurance policies as needed

• Update insurance schedules in Microsoft Word or Excel on a monthly basis.

• Light client, broker, and co-worker interaction via email and phone.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Minimal experience with property & casualty, personal, and health, dental & medical insurances

Interpersonal, analytical, problem solving ability

Organizational and time management skills are essential

Stable work history, great attendance and timely track record

A self-starter, requiring minimal supervision

Strong organizational skills

Professionalism in attitude and appearance
