SCHEDULE: Full Time
TRAVEL REQUIRED: 0% - 25%
COMPENSATION: $63,595.00 to $134,417.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
About Our Opportunity
Our Insurance Solutions Specialist contributes business knowledge to develop, implement, and enhance business processes and technology systems to meet business needs and mitigate operational and compliance risk. Leads process innovation through objective evaluation, incorporating industry standards and obtaining regular input from various end users. As a business owner, serves as the process authority for the system they represent. Is the main liaison between and works collaboratively with business users, business technology, Approved Insurance Providers (AIPs) and other partners. A self-starter with a strong initiative towards accomplishing results, works closely with end users, leaders and other essential partners to support the association's end-to-end insurance process.
How You Will Spend Your Time
Serve as the technical point-of-contact and subject-matter expert providing optimal use of systems utilized by the insurance team or systems that enable insurance activities for leaders and team members across the Association.
Perform applicable system maintenance, process improvement, and serve as a subject matter expert for end-user training.
Configure, customize and implement system enhancements or adjustments.
Manage system upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects as assigned.
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of partner systems.
Report, track and communicate Partner system issues and enhancements.
Collaborate with internal teams to enhance systems, team processes and deliver strategy for insurance team.
Works directly with external vendors and internal technology resources to develop or enhance departmental systems (i.e. AIP Development, tax and accounting systems) to gain efficiencies and enhance the client experience.
Collaborates with Business Technology and Business Process Improvement team on projects that advance and improve Core team processes and delivery.
Provide ongoing dialogue with vendor representatives for system notifications and coordinate with internal teams when system issues arise to facilitate continuity of system availability.
Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, business or related field preferred, or equivalent training and experience. One year experience in crop insurance, insurance or other finance related field, or 3 years' experience in system administration. Experience with insurance industry systems preferred.
