Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as a Customer Service Representative for Members Insurance Center, Commercial Lines Department.
Identifies and interprets customer insurance needs to resolve routine problems and recommend coverage enhancements and cross-sell additional product lines.
Consistently meet performance and production goals as directed by management while maintaining quality business.
Maintain relationship with Clients and assist with insurance all insurance needs including applications and billing. Responds to policy correspondence from insurance company and insureds.
Data entry in to Agency Management System and keeping accurate records of all insurance inquiries, questions, policies, etc.
Acts within the underwriting guidelines of the represented insurance companies and the agency policies and procedures manual to minimize errors and omissions.
Develops and maintains relationship with other professionals in the financial and insurance industry to maintain a high quality, competitive Commercial program.
Manages existing commercial insurance portfolio and performs annual reviews.
Assists with managing CUSO relationships with business owners by providing exceptional personal service for their own commercial needs and those of their employees.
Acts in a cooperative and joint fashion with all Credit Union business units including Suncoast Business Services, Suncoast Trust and Investments, Suncoast Service Centers, and Suncoast Mortgage Loan Officer's.
Responsible for maintaining knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, issues, and best practices affecting area of expertise. Attends conferences, courses, seminars, workshops, and meetings that will increase professional knowledge and be otherwise beneficial to the Credit Union.
Attends job-specific training classes as requested by manager. Completes annual BSA/AML compliance training and understands employee's role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program, and completes FACT Act Red Flag training.
Minimum Education, Experience and Skill Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree in a business-related field. (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements.)
Minimum 3 year's experience as a commercial lines insurance producer, preferably at an Independent Agency, and product analysis experience with a successful track record of quote conversion.
Active General Lines Property & Casualty license - 0220 and continuing education requirements must be maintained.
Excellent knowledge of understanding of the Florida Insurance Market including product offerings, carrier availability and industry guidelines.
Proven ability to generate leads, and build a book of business, as well as pipeline for future opportunities and increase revenue.
Possesses a thorough understanding of commercial sales, provide solutions to business owners and rate negotiation.
Excellent organization, prioritization, analytical, and problem solving skills. Able to deal effectively with competing and changing priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Products including Outlook, Word & Excel.
Excellent knowledge of ACCORD forms.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with staff, and current and potential clients.
Must exercise sound judgment and independent discretion in all areas of responsibility outlined above.
Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Able to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized. Able to resolve routine problems and situations.
Basic knowledge and understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures pertinent to the job.
Basic knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities.
Basic knowledge and understanding of all Credit Union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties.
Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators. Able to communicate information that requires some explanation or interpretation.
Work is closely supervised.
