As the Insurance Risk & Claims Manager at Hamilton County, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of insurance risk management and claims administration within the county government. This role is crucial in protecting the county's assets, minimizing liabilities, and ensuring the efficient resolution of insurance claims. The position requires a blend of strategic planning, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance within the unique context of county government operations.
Summary of Job Duties:
Oversee risk assessment and mitigation processes for Hamilton County's operations.
Identify and evaluate potential risks, developing strategies to minimize liabilities, accidents, and property damage, and collaborating with department heads to address emerging risks and safety concerns.
Manage retention programs and coordinate property, casualty and liability insurance programs and contracts.
Investigates and processes loss notices.
Negotiates and settles insurance claims within established limits.
Manage the county's insurance portfolio, including property, casualty, liability, workers' compensation, and other insurance policies.
Oversee the administration of insurance claims filed against the county, including property damage, personal injury, and professional liability claims.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a specialization in risk management, insurance, business administration, or related field.
Requires five (5) years of pertinent management experience, including a minimum of three (3) years specifically in commercial and self-insurance management and claims management.
Or, equivalent combination of training and experience should exhibit a thorough comprehension of risk management, along with demonstrated leadership or supervision of staff in the same or similar field of work.
