Purpose and Job Summary

The Director is primarily responsible for ensuring the portfolio has met insurance compliance obligations according to loan documents and various investor requirements. Duties will include supervision of daily operations and overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team, facilitate new hire decisions, train, and develop middle level managers and associates. Position will have accountability and oversight of the strategic vision of the team, key metrics, team performance, audit reviews, as well as various duties related operations across the entire escrow administration team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leadership of a team of Managers, Associates and Analysts to ensure SLAs are being upheld with high quality output.

  • Direct oversight & management of third-party vendors that are incorporated into the various insurance review processes

  • Deliver strategic process development/improvement plans to management to drive efficiency.

  • Participate in the management of staffing requirements, performance appraisals, employee engagement and other matters relative to effective management.

  • Establish and maintain departmental policies and procedures that ensure compliance with investor requirements and industry best practices; and manage departmental adherence to same

  • Maintain and enhance the team's learning environment through ongoing, integrated training - Train and develop team members on core position requirements and functions, ensuring consistent attention to detail across all team members.

  • Ensure a sound quality check process, providing feedback to team members, communicating training gaps to the team member,

  • Assist in compiling data samples for department and/or lender audits, as requested.

  • Monitor reports and deadlines to ensure work is completed in advance of set timelines, proactively communicating portfolio status with manager as needed.

  • Maintain strong knowledge of lender insurance requirements, including Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA and other lenders as assigned.

  • Travel Requirements - up to 20%

  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education, Skills & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required

  • At least 10 years of experience in commercial real estate mortgage industry of commercial insurance compliance processing

  • Ability to educate others, able to translate insurance concepts into clear actionable information/instruction.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments, and to meet critical and established deadlines; Ability to manage multiple assignments and transactions simultaneously

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to use discretion in the performance of daily activities

  • Ability to learn quickly and demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team

  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and constant interruptions; Ability to adjust priorities in a changing environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and list other relevant systems or software

This position has frequent contact with all levels of employees and management. In addition, this role may interact with outside business partners, vendors, consultants, and other office visitors.
