Insurance Coverage Attorney

Overview

The NYC office of Kaufman Dolowich, an AV-rated firm designated one of the "Best Companies to Work For" among U.S. law firms by U.S. News & World Report, is seeking an Insurance Coverage Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of experience counseling insurance companies and defending insurance coverage/bad faith lawsuits under D&O management liability, professional liability, private equity and financial lines related policies. The candidate would be joining a growing, dynamic firm with more than 200 attorneys nationwide.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyzing insurance policies.

• Drafting coverage opinions, reservations of rights and disclaimers.

• Providing coverage recommendations.

• Drafting pleadings, discovery, motions and related materials.

• Taking and defending depositions.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting D&O, E&O and EPL insurance policies, drafting coverage opinions and litigating coverage matters.

• Superior legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Excellent academic credentials.

• Admission to the New York State Bar.

The total annual compensation for this position is $130,000 - $200,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to base salary, Kaufman Dolowich offers an annual discretionary bonus, performance-based bonus, unlimited PTO, professional and client development and a full comprehensive benefits package.
