Castle High Value Surveys, a division of Overland Solutions (an EXL Company), is a leading provider for high value residential insurance surveys to the insurance industry nationwide. We are currently looking for self-directed independent contractors to work from their own home or office to service reports throughout the Orlando and Kissimmee, FL area. We are interested in those knowledgeable in real estate and/or building materials and construction techniques.

As an Independent Contractor for Castle you will be responsible to schedule and conduct site-based residential property surveys that will be used for homeowners' insurance purposes. This involves coordinating and completing on-site surveys within your own schedule, managing work assignments you accept, and solid computer skills as all reports are web-based and completed online. Previous insurance, inspection, construction or appraising experience preferred, but all interested candidates are encouraged to submit their qualifications. Independent Contractor rates may be negotiable based experience and the unique aspects of selected jobs.

Primary Requirements:

  • Professionally interact over the phone, via email, and in-person with homeowners and insurance agents

  • Conduct on-site property surveys on high value homes as per customer specific guidelines and procedures

  • Identify and document the construction materials/characteristics and unique features of the home

  • Obtain exterior measurements of the home and other structures on the property

  • Communicate the information gathered during on-site inspection in the provided web-based client requested forms accessed through the Castle website

  • Reliable vehicle

  • Measuring device such as: laser, 100 ft. tape, or measuring wheel

JOB SUMMARY: This position is available with the Department of Revenue, Property Tax Oversight program, and is based out of the Orlando office, located downtown. The position is responsible for the appraisal of commercial real property in surrounding counties to determine the just or market value for assessment purposes. Duties include research, compile and analyze market, cost and income data in the development of estimates of value for commercial/industrial/multi-family properties; property inspections which take into consideration market value, location, and building or replacement costs; assessing tax according to prescribed tax tables and schedules; read, analyze, and reconstruct rent rolls, balance sheets, P&L statements and other financial documents; research and analysis of property, and sales data, and submitting commercial property appraisal reports. Provide aid and assistance to County Property Appraisers, conduct and participate in interviews and reviews with the County Property Appraiser and staff. This position requires travel. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Two years minimum in fee or mass appraisal experience to include commercial property appraisals. * Experience collecting and analyzing large quantities of property sales, property income and expense data. * Experience in the application of multiple approaches to value and the proper appraisal methodology. * Experience in Microsoft Office software, such as Excel and Word. * Associates Degree * Experience compiling, interpreting and displaying valuation data results.
