BB&T Life Insurance Services specializes in providing life, disability and long-term care insurance solutions to the clients of BB&T as well as it's related affiliates. BB&T Life Insurance Services is part of BB&T Insurance Services which is recognized as the sixth largest insurance broker in the U.S. and the seventh largest internationally.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
The Insurance Strategist will serve in a support role, assisting assigned Insurance Strategists in achieving their defined territorial revenue goals. This individual should have the ability to:
1.Interface with Private and Financial Advisors and assist them with any questions they may have as it relates to the insurance process.
2.Assist in the policy review process, including requesting in-force ledgers, requesting appropriate illustrations and producing final presentation documents.
3.Communicate directly with the clients and assist the Insurance Strategist in the placement of life, disability and long-term care products.
4.Provide educational material to advisors and clients.
5.Produce client presentations.
6.Provide support during the new business and underwriting process.
7.Provide illustration support to the Scott & Stringfellow Financial Advisors assigned to the territory.
8.Coordinate Advanced Market Support required by the S&S Financial Advisors.
9.Provide weekly and monthly reporting for the designated region.
10. Have a complete understanding of the insurance process and the commission payout structure for each channel serviced by the Insurance Strategist.
Required Skills and Competencies:

2.Ability to provide BB&T's Perfect Client Experience to both internal and external clients
3.Effective time management skills
4.Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
5.Experience with PC's in a Windows environment
6.Four year college degree in business or equivalent education
7.2 years work experience in the life insurance industry
8.Experience with database management systems
9.Intermediate level skill in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
10. NASD Series 6 and 63 and Life and LTC licensing preferred
