The Insulbar Associate position's purpose is to assist operation and set-up of parts and running of the thermal strut insulator installation equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform and document quality checks during the Insulbar process, report issues to Tech or Supervisor
Assist Technician in locating and moving parts and strut for setups
Verify by die prints that all parts match and requirements of the assembly are met
Load material onto and off of the conveyor, set up and run strut machines
Report strut usage on production reports
Assist Technician on loading and unloading completed parts
Cut samples and conduct shear tests, record and store
Make sure material has been properly counted and the proper tags are placed on the material.
Tape parts and cut strut when needed
Assist with general housekeeping in Insulbar Dept.
Comply with Company and Health & Safety policies and procedures
Teamwork is essential, must be able to work closely and cooperatively with a partner
Must be able to communicate effectively with peers and management
Must be able to read and write legibly
Must be able to follow written instructions and tracking information
Must have the ability to learn to recognize poor metal quality as related to finish or metal itself
Must be able to use a tape measure, calipers, protractor, and squares
Must be able to make simple mathematical calculations
Must be able to read die prints
Must have a high level of initiative - able to work independently
May need to occasionally need to determine and distinguish shades of color for quality verification
Must be able to work extended overtime hours for extended shifts and or weekends
Must be capable of lifting 25 pounds continuously with occasional lifting of 60 pounds
Must be able to frequently lift parts weighing 20 pounds on average from a storage buggy to a waist-high conveyor
Must be able to stand for entire shift and walk periodically back and forth
Must be able to occasionally assist co-workers pushing buggies weighing up to 3,000 lbs.
Must be able to continuously grasp and reach to move metal to/from buggies or conveyors
Must have good hand dexterity using both hands for gripping and moving material
Must have good hand-eye coordination to move metal with a partner

The manufacturing facility is subject to the same general climate conditions as outdoors (heat, cold, humidity, etc.) Fans are provided to create airflow through the department area. Chemicals, dust, pollen and other typical airborne particulate matter are present within the atmosphere and may create some odors in the plant. Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope, in an effort to provide its employees with a safe and healthy working environment, limits exposure to chemicals through written procedures, engineering controls, and PPE. While some chemical may pose health risks if not properly used, employees are trained on the proper safety equipment and procedures for handling chemicals. While the chemical exposure and odors are under acceptable levels set by OSHA and TOSHA, they nevertheless, can be smelled and are handled according to the company's hazardous program.
